Proven Flies For The Yuba

How many times have you been down on the Yuba during the winter months, the bugs are hatching and you just did not have the right fly, the next day you go to your local fly shop and see a tag that says great Yuba fly, so you buy it, what no luck again, that won’t happen here. I have worked with some of the top local guides and purchased some of the most proven flies for the Yuba. I have also put t
ogether a selection of flies in a nice custom logo fly box. This fly box contains 24 flies that cover all the life cycles for their specific hatch. I have a great Baetis box and a PMD box. If you purchase one of these selections you will get the fly box with Reel Anglers Fly Shop logo for half off. So quite guessing and come and pick up one or both of this boxes for yourself or one of your fishing buddies. Each box is labeled so you know what you are using.

Local fly-fishing store, Reel Anglers Fly Shop, opened last month.

Reel Anglers owner Tom Page grew up in Nevada County where he spent many hours fishing during summer.

He said his love for fly-fishing led him to become a fly-fishing guide/instructor and now the owner of a local fishing shop.

The shop provides fly-fishing guided services, fly-fishing apparel, accessories, fly rods and reels and a large variety of flies for the local streams and lakes.

Introductory classes for fly-fishing and fly-tying are currently offered, as well as fly-fishing clinics.

The clinics are designed to prepare both beginning and intermediate anglers for just about any fly-fishing situation. The classes can be set up for groups or private lessons.

Page said he wants community members to feel like this is their fly-fishing shop by providing guide services, classes and fly-fishing gear needed to enjoy such a wonderful sport in the local area.

“I have a fabulous fly-fishing women's group,” said Page in an email. “We just had our first meet-and-greet this week at the new fly shop.”

The women's group started with six members and is continuing to grow.

One of his goals is to introduce fly-fishing to the youth of Nevada County by holding fly-fishing clinics just for children.
